To our valued customers: your auto insurance refund check is on the way

 

MAY 6, 2020: The COVID-19 pandemic and shelter-in-place orders have significantly changed the lives and driving patterns of people across the country. There is little commuting to work and less personal travel, resulting in fewer miles driven. To reflect these changes, we have begun mailing checks to our customers for 15% of their  auto insurance premium. Customers may simply deposit the check - no further action is required on their part.

 

Electric Insurance Company Reimbursement FAQs

 

Who is eligible for reimbursement?

Policyholders who had an auto insurance policy with Electric Insurance Company that was in effect as of March 31, 2020.

How much is the reimbursement?

The check is equal to 15% of three months of your auto premium.

How was my reimbursement calculated?

We:

  • Divided your annual policy premium by 12 months to determine your monthly premium, and
  • Multiplied three months of your premium by 15% to calculate the amount of your check.

Example: a customer who pays $1,200 per year ($100 a month) would receive a check for $45 ($100 multiplied by 15% for three months).

To whom is the check made out?

The check is made out to the first named insured on the policy.
