2021 AMERICAN BUSINESS AWARDS® WINS
Beverly, MA – May 13, 2021 – Electric Insurance Company was named the winner of a Gold Stevie® Award in the Customer Service Team of the Year category and winner of a Silver Stevie® Award in the Customer Service Department of the Year category in the 19th Annual American Business Awards®.
The American Business Awards are the U.S.A.’s premier business awards program; awards are nicknamed “the Stevies” based on the Greek word meaning “crowned.”
More than 3,800 nominations – a record number – from organizations in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration. The submissions were judged by a panel of 250 professionals from all over the globe.
Gold Stevie Winner for Customer Service Team of the Year: Customer Operations
The 2021 Gold Stevie award is the third consecutive gold award for this team. The COVID-19 pandemic brought tremendous challenges, which we met head on. A judge’s comment sums up how we delivered on our customer service commitment: “In perhaps the toughest of circumstances, Electric Insurance Company has stepped up their empathetic professionalism.”
“Empathy for our customers is a top priority – especially during the pandemic,” commented Kevin Arivella, Manager, Customer Service. “So many people have experienced adverse situations that we focused our efforts on helping in a variety of ways.” The team’s actions were well-received: 97% of surveyed customer responses indicated that they were likely to renew their coverage based on the level of support they received.
Silver Stevie Winner for Customer Service Department of the Year: Personal Lines Claim Operations
Working from home and with new technology, our Claims team introduced lean methodology that allowed more than 50 process improvements directly benefitting our customers – all while handling operations. Judges noted the circumstances and commented that our Claims Department has “All the characteristics of a superbly managed customer service team.”
Personal Lines Claims Operations Director Bob Lessard was glad to see that recognition. “Exceptional claim service is the backbone of our business, and how we deliver our brand promise. We’re honored to receive a Silver Stevie Award for resolving claims 30% faster and improving customer satisfaction as a result of applying Lean processes.”
